Born and raised in Romania, I've always held a strong passion for design. My first memories of gardening are with my father, planting tomato, cucumber, parsley, dill and eating big tomato right off the plant, during my childhood. Among other things, I remember my miniature garden, where I planted tomato, cucumber, parsley and dill, which were "stoled" from my father. As far as drawing is concerned, I had my first contact when I saw my father sketch Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man.
After working for a few years as a journalist at newspapers in Transilvania, Romania, my interest soon returned to horticulture and landscape design. I decided to study landscape design, ornamental plants, oenology at the University of Horticulture, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. While a student at the University of Horticulture, I earned a scholarship in Holland where I studied Plants Tissue, Marketing Perishable, Plant Breeding, Seed Supply and Field Experiments. Also, I earned a contract for two years with the University of Medicine, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, where I designed gardens and floral arrangements in exchange for free rent in the University's hostel.
In 2005, I decided to come to the US. After a few months I started to study landscape design at the New York Botanical Garden, NY and concurrently to do voluntary work in gardening on the roof top in Manhattan at Dimitri's Garden Center. While at Dimitri's, I performed voluntary work on rooftop gardens in both gardening and landscape design. My work there is captured in pictures taken by me.
The design of this website belongs to me and the implementation was made my husband. The purpose of this site is to promote my work.
