Shirley you must have copied text from a website only to watch in awe how pasting it in your favorite rich text editor produces fugazi makeup; it’s because the text retains the formatting it had on the webpage. And thus, instead of pasting directly into Word, you fire up Notepad, paste into Notepad, only to paste again into Word from Notepad; whaddayaknow… it just so happens that this does the trick.
Now for the tip of the day. Bypass notepad when you’re copying single line text, and use the Run window as temporary paste location. In so doing, you’ll save a few keystrokes, because you pass through the Run window to open Notepad anyway. Any text box will do; the Run window’s text box just happens to be conveniently and ominously available.
And I’ll stop calling you Shirley.
