It’s unbelievable that removal of a batch of photos from within a Flickr set is not within a moment’s grasp. In fact, most valiant a blogger indicate one-by-one removal. No, thanks. While digesting my frustration with this crap, and wondering how they let this happen–I purchased a Pro subscription, so I’d like things to run smooth–I had a real Zen moment.
Without further ado, may thine humble servant put forth a recipe for batch removal; mhm, mhm…, at the small cost of changing the URL of your set.
1. Select the photos you want to stay the set.
2. Copy the photos to a new, temporary set.
3. Delete the original set.
4. Rename the new, temporary set using the old set name.
Fuckin’ decent, aye?
Later edit: If you can’t find a way to rename a set–I’m really at my wits’ end–try replacing step 4 with:
4. Copy the photos from the new set to a set with the old name, now that the old set with the old name is gone.
5. Delete the temporary set.
Fuck this. Even easier:
1. Push the photos to be kept into a batch.
2. With the batch still intact, open the set in a separate tab and delete it.
3. Return to the batch and add the photos to a new set with the same name.

Creating a new set with the same name is a horrible approach, as it would likely destroy the URL that the set was originally located at. Any link to the old set would be invalidated…
